USA Network is bringing Megan Abbot's dark and twisted cheerleading novel, Dare Me, to the small screen, and the first trailer looks like an intriguing mix of Bring It On and Euphoria.
The adaptation of the 2012 thriller stars MTV's Scream actress Willa Fitzgerald as cheerleading coach Colette French, who descends on a high school to bring its squad to prominence and in turn drives a wedge between two best friends on the team, Addy (The Get Down's Herizen Guardiola) and Beth (Patricia Moore's Marlo Kelly). Beth, known for being manipulative and cruel, is used to getting her way, and the arrival of Coach Colette sends her into a tailspin. When a shocking crime is later committed, the girls find themselves pushed to their physical and psychological extremes. Dun, dun, dunnn.
So, what Dare Me lacks in spirit fingers it will seemingly make up for in murder — Y-E-L-L, everybody YELL YELL! Watch the trailer above before the show premieres on Dec. 29.
