A contestant on The Voice managed to make Robyn's "Dancing on My Own" sound even more emotional. In her blind audition — which took place during this season's final auditions episode, mind you — Brittney Allen offered a more restrained and soulful take on the 2010 song, which is known for the way its upbeat energy juxtaposes its heartbreaking lyrical content. Despite many teams being nearly full, Allen's audition was enough to earn her a spot on coach John Legend's team.
"I love the song you chose, and I loved your rendition of it. It really allowed us to hear so much of the contours of your voice," Legend told Allen. "Almost everybody can come on here and hit the high notes and belt, but when you can do the stuff you did on the lower end, that's very exciting for me." Nick Jonas then summed it up nicely when he said, "If only you had a coach with more awards and success to help you along the way." Watch the moving and unique audition above.
