Queens stars Eve (Briana aka Professor Sex), Nadine Velazquez (Valeria aka Butter Pecan), Naturi Naughton (Jill aka Da Thrill), and Brandy (Naomi aka Xplicit Lyrics) are real-life pals, and it's so wholesome! On their ABC show, which premiered on Tuesday night, the women play four best friends who reunite their '90s rap group Nasty B*tches when they are in their 40s. During their appearance on The View on Thursday, the women gushed about each other for practically five minutes straight. "To be able to do this show with Brandy, it's been amazing," Eve said, to which Brandy responded, "She's amazing as well and I've always been a huge fan."
Naughton, who was once in the 2000s girl group 3LW, called the experience "surreal" going from a teenage R&B singer to a "woman who gets to share the screen with icons." She sweetly added, "My dreams are really coming true." Meanwhile, Velazquez had never sung, rapped, or danced until starring on Queens. As expressed gratitude for all the "support" and encouragement her costars gave her, Eve shouted out, "She's amazing," with Brandy adding, "She kills it!" Eventually, all the women held hands as Velazquez said, "We are the show!"
Whoopi Goldberg asked the women if there are any lessons they hope children take away from Queens and they all agreed that they hope the show teaches kids the importance of chasing your dreams "no matter what." Naughton told The View audience that she always tells her 4-year-old daughter Zuri: "What you dream is truly possible. Just go for it, go hard, do the work." She teased, "Then you can be right up here with Whoopi and Sarah, too." Watch the full interview in the video above.
