Courtney Hadwin has done it again. The 15-year-old teen regularly rocked the world of the America's Got Talent judges last year, and now she's putting her unique vocals to work with a roaring cover of Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road."
The record-breaking smash hit has definitely had its share of covers and an abundance of remixes, but thanks to Hadwin's signature Janis Joplin-esque style, her rendition gives the single a rousing rock edge. Like everyone else in the world, Hadwin couldn't get the single out of her head once it debuted and just had to put her spin on it.
"I first heard 'Old Town Road' soon after it was released, and I knew I had to cover it my own way," the musician told POPSUGAR. "I had this other version stuck in my head, and I wanted to get it out there for everyone to hear. It was so much fun putting my own spin on it, and now it's probably one of my favorite covers that I've done."
Considering she's been putting out some pretty epic covers on her YouTube page since her time on America's Got Talent, that's seriously high praise! We definitely wouldn't be upset if Lil Nas X and Hadwin decide to link up for another remix — just putting it out there.
When she's not working on covers of the latest hits, Hadwin is hard at work on her own album — which is expected to drop sometime next year. In the meantime, we'll just be here listening to her "Old Town Road" cover for the 100th time and replaying her other amazing performances.
