Booksmart is easily one of our favorite movies of the Summer. The coming-of-age comedy directed by Olivia Wilde boasts an epic soundtrack, nonstop hilarity, and deeply heartfelt moments, all held down by its exceptional leading ladies: Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein.
The latter plays Molly, an ambitious overachiever who spent the entirety of her four years in high school hitting the books and abiding by the rules so she would one day be able to achieve her dream of going to Yale. Though she gets in, she soon realizes that all of the slackers who spent their high school careers partying also got into Ivy League universities. So to make up for lost time, she and her best friend, Amy (Dever), proceed to cram four years' worth of parties into one night, resulting in the best BFF adventure since Superbad.
In our exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from the comedy, Feldstein — whom you might know from her work in Lady Bird and Neighbors 2 — opens up about getting handpicked to play Molly by Wilde, why she connects so strongly to her character, and her favorite scene from the film. Check it out above, then be sure to preorder your tickets for an advanced Booksmart screening on May 17, before it arrives in theaters nationwide on May 24!
