The first reviews for The Lion King are in, and although they aren't all that great so far, it seems most critics can agree on one thing: Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner are perfectly cast as Pumbaa and Timon. The dynamic duo bring plenty of laughs throughout the 2019 photo-realistic reboot of the beloved 1994 classic, and in a new clip from the film, we get to see them save young, fluffy Simba (voiced by JD McCrary) from a pack of hungry vultures.
In addition to the new footage, above, Disney shared a behind-the-scenes look at the real-life cast voicing their roles in the studio. Not only did they record their parts in the usual recording booth, but director Jon Favreau also had the stars get together and physically act out the dialogue.
Check out both clips, then be sure to watch Simba and Scar go head-to-head before the film arrives in theaters on July 18.
