Get ready, because the Invictus Games are headed to Germany! On Wednesday, Prince Harry announced that his annual Paralympic-style competition for wounded and recovering soldiers and veterans will be held in Düsseldorf in 2022. "I hope everyone in Germany is ready for what will be an incredible week of sport!" Harry said in a statement on his Sussex Royal Instagram account. "I have no doubt that the German public will get right behind these Games and that every single competitor can expect a warm welcome and an amazing atmosphere."
The Invictus Games will bring together "over 500 competitors as they showcase their talents, determination and camaraderie to the world," and they hold a special place in Harry's heart, as he spent 10 years serving in the Armed Forces. The event has been previously held in London, Orlando, Toronto, and Sydney, and this year, it will take place in The Hague, Netherlands. Harry and Meghan Markle recently announced they'd be scaling back from the royal family, and even though their roles are still uncertain, the games will go on!
